Oshima Tsumugi

Oshima pongee is 100% silk. Prior to weaving, the yarn is dyed first, and then hand-woven plain weave is used to make the Kasuri mating, which is designated as a "Traditional Crafts Designated by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry". It is one of the highest peaks of silk fabrics that Japan is proud of, known for its fine dyeing and weaving techniques. It is one of the three largest textiles in the world along with the French "Gobelins" and Iran "Persian carpets". It takes half a year to a year to complete one piece of this fabric, which is produced through more than 30 processes. The beautiful design, the deep luster compared to the wet feather color of the crow, the supple feel, and the light comfort are attractive. Furthermore, it is said that it is a durable fabric that can be worn for 150 to 200 years, and it has been passed down through generations of parents and children and has been used habitually for generations.
Togo Textile manufactures while strictly following traditional techniques. A variety of patterns are created by the combination of delicate Kasuri and the dyeing of plants such as Umeshi, Yellow Hada and Ai. The pattern was developed with motifs such as "classical patterns" and "natural flowers." In addition, in recent years, we have also produced modern abstract patterns designed by Akio Nagae. High efficiency machine was developed by Ieun Nagae in 1868, and invented from Kasuri making by hand clasping to Kasuri making by tightening machine in 1891 so that production can be dramatically expanded and widely sold nationwide. became.

Satsuma Kasuri

- Satsuma Kasuri -

薩摩絣.jpg

Satsuma Kasuri is one of the best cotton fabrics in Japan. In the past, it was a simple one that draws the flow of Ryukyu Kasuri, as represented by the Satsuma Kasuri of the pattern of Idashi, which is seen in the statue of Takamori Saigo in Ueno Park, Tokyo, but now it does not leave any trace of it. Rather, it is made as a fashionable item that you can feel the feeling of Oshima Tsumugi with cotton. Therefore, it has the luxury and dignity that is said to be the last thing people who wear kimonos such as Oshima pongee and Yuki pongee will demand, and it has been refined as the best cotton fabric.
Togo woven textiles that make Satsuma Kasuri these days are the third generation of Ieun Nagae, the third generation of Haru Togo, who completed the construction method of the machine, and started to revive Satsuma Kasuri. Mr. Togo continued to study pongee enthusiastically, and after working on Oshima pongee etc., he thought that it was more than the old Satsuma Kasuri, and made Satsuma Kasuri using elaborate techniques of Oshima pongee. After that, the son-in-law, Akio Nagae, succeeded as the fourth generation, and has faithfully protected the technique without losing its attitude in the times of high growth and universal science.

Togo Textile's Satsuma Kasuri uses "Satsuma Kasuri Teori Kasuri No Makoto" as a trademark, which is a word on colored paper that was impressed when Samurai Shoji visited. The Satsuma Kasuri is exactly made according to the word.

Summer oshima

- Natsu Oshima -

夏大島.jpg

Togo Textile's Natsu Oshima is the highest peak of Natsu Oshima that expresses a unique sharpness and modern design using high-quality twisted silk thread as the raw material, with delicate Kasuri patterns centered around hand-tightened Kasuri Kasuri patterns. .. We started production immediately after the war, and pursued coolness and freshness for more than 50 years. A thin Oshima pongee made of hard-twisted silk, a kimono with a unique sharpness and sheer feeling. In order to stabilize the quality of the product, we cultivate Oshima, who specializes in summer Oshima, and weave carefully for about two months. Those with a sharp taste are rare and cannot be found in the market.
We recommend you to have it from May to September. It is the finest fabric that you will never forget once you wear it.
